The
resource centre provides an array of books, journals and
magazines on broadcasting (in particular TV production),
multimedia, journalism, film and writing. Other titles of
general interest are also available for students' reference.
This centre is continuously committed to increasing the
number of reference materials for students. Like any other
resource centre inter-library loan facilities, information
services centre, computers, media equipment, photostating
and Internet terminals from part of the services. Students
can read and do their work comfortably in a conducive and
stimulating environment at the centre.

Services
To
make the resource centre more effective, it provides a services
such as borrowing books, interlibrary
loan, information services and photocopy.
Borrowing
& Returning Books
Borrowing
i. Users are required to present their Identification
Card to the Resource Centre staff for borrowing books,
magazines, etc.
ii. Users have to write their names on the Book Card that
is inside the book.
iii. Resource Centre Staff will stamp the due date on
the book card and the date due slip.
Returning
i. Users have to bring the book to the Circulation Counter.
ii. Make sure that the Resource Centre Staff has discharged
your loan before you leave the counter.
Renewing
i. Users should renew or return all Resource Centre materials
by the due date to avoid overdue penalties.
ii. To renew, users have to bring the book to the Resource
Centre and ask for renewal.
iii. Books may be renewed for a further period if they have
not been reserved.
iv. Renewals through the telephone or in writing will not
be accepted.
v. Users may renew the book(s) only once, for another 14
days, if another user has not already reserved them. Users
will be able to reserve a maximum of 2 books.
Reference
Collections
i. Lecturers are most welcome to put their course materials
on Reference Collection in order to make those materials
accessible to the students.
ii. Reference collection is located at the Circulation Counter.
iii. Reference Collection may be borrowed overnight one
hour before the library closes and must be returned to the
Resource Centre within one hour after the Resource Centre
starts its operation the following day.
iv. For academic staff, the reference materials can be borrowed
for a maximum of 4 hours while students are allowed for
a maximum of 2 hours.
Fines
i. Fines are levied on overdue books, and the charges exclude
Sunday and Public Holidays.
ii. All fines must be paid immediately to the Finance Department
when the overdue books are returned.
iii. A user may be suspended from further borrowing books
if the accumulated fines reach RM10.00.

Interlibrary
Loan
Materials,
which are not available in the MIIM Resource Centre can
be borrowed from other libraries in Malaysia through the
Interlibrary Loan Service. Those interested in using the
service should contact the Librarian.

Information
Services
The
Reference Inquiry service provides users with the necessary
basic information which will help them find and use other
apppropriate library materials. Users can seek the assistance
of the librarian. A notice stating "Fresh from Shelves"
will be displayed to inform users of the new books that
are available in the Resource Centre.

Photocopy
This
is self-service photocopying service. Users need to have
a copy card in order to make a copy. The rate is RM5 for
70 copies, RM7 for 100 copies and RM10 for 140 copies.
