Courses
What
are the study hours like?

DIPLOMA
Full-time
|
Classes
run 5-days a week
between 9am to
6pm, although
evening classes
may be scheduled
between 6pm and
9pm. Students
may also be required
to be on-campus
during weekends
/ evenings for
projects and replacement
classes.

What
is the medium of instruction?
Both
Bahasa Malaysia and English are
the official language of instruction
at MIIM with classes taught in either
language. During final examination,
students are allowed to answer in
either Bahasa Malaysia or English.
Is
it important for a student
to have a good command of
English?
Yes,
it is. Although only 50% of classes are taught in
English, most reference materials are in English.
Furthermore, in the media industry a good command
of English is highly desirable.

What
career prospects are available
for MIIM graduates?
In
general, the career prospects in broadcasting and multimedia
is becoming better and better. With the Multimedia Super
Corridor and the "boom" in the broadcasting industry,
there are now more job prospects in the Communication industry
than ever before.

Are
MIIM’s courses / qualifications
recognised?
MIIM
is recognised by the Malaysian
Ministry of Education. We
have 5 courses which have
been approved by Lembaga Akreditasi
Negara (LAN).

What
is the normal class size ?
For
each subject, students are required
to attend one lecture and one
tutorial a week. The lecture
is open to all students who
sign up for that subject. For
tutorials, students are divided
in groups of between 15 to 25.
